China National General Machinery Engineering Corporation (hereinafter be abbreviated to GME), established in 1979, is a subsidiary company of China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach), which is central enterprise under the governance of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. GME is a large professional engineering enterprise, mainly focusing on engineering design at home and abroad, engineering contracting and complete equipments supply.

GME holds Class-A qualification of engineering design, general engineering contracting, complete mechanical and electrical equipment supply, equipment tendering for construction engineering and engineering consulting. And also, GME is the member of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products and China International Contractors Association respectively.

GME has achieved over 3000 projects of engineering contracting, engineering design and complete equipment supply since its establishment in 1979, among of which, over 850 national key projects, over 100 complete equipment exports and over 70 various award of science and technology progress both at national level and ministry level. In the field of power plant engineering, GME has accomplished nearly 30 projects of general contracting and complete main & auxiliary equipment supply.

In addition, GME won the qualification of equipment contracting for nuclear power station in 1994, won the certification of ISO9001 quality management system certified by China Classification Society Quality Assurance Limited in 1998, and won the revised certification of ISO9001:2000 quality management system in 2001. GME also won ISO 18001:2001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System (EMS) in 2010.
